Blog / Lander University adds wrestling

Lander University, a Division II public university in Greenwood, South Carolina, has announced that they will be adding a Men's Wrestling program for the 2019-2020 academic year. This new program will be the fourth Division II program in South Carolina.

Lander Athletic Director Brian Reese said that "This is thrilling news for Lander as we continue to elevate and grow our athletics program" and that "Men's wrestling will bring an added element to our overall student-athlete experience and will give us another opportunity to field a program that can compete at a championship level."

The university has 3,000 students and was founded in 1872 as a private female's college. Tuition and fees for an undergraduate student is $5,350 for in-state and $10,150 for out-of-state. Lander is known for its business administration and management and nursing programs, as well as nursing, exercise science, sociology, and early childhood education and teaching programs.
