Wrestling Recruit was created by a Nick Stewart, a high school wrestler that was not highly recruited and not highly decorated. One day Nick sat down and filled out over 40 recruitment questionnaires in an attempt to wrestle in college (with the end result being in three offers). After college, Nick wanted to create a better solution for high school wrestlers that want to continue their career into college.
Wrestling Recruit was started in 2015 initially as just a website with a list of colleges on it. From the start, the goal was to provide a tool that wrestlers that aren't necessarily on major colleges' radars a way to wrestle in college. From that initial list, Wrestling Recruit grew to have many more features, first with that list being overhauled into a database type application complete with filters and an easy to use UI. From there a map view was created to provide another way to interact with the data.
In late 2016, Wrestling Recruit became a free product, that way more wrestlers could use the tools to continue their careers into college wrestling. A new feature was also developed called Find a College that allowed colleges to be found using more details such as distance.
Auto Submit is set to launch in late 2018. This new tool will allow a wrestler to fill in his or her information in once and then a "robot" in the cloud will automatically submit that information to colleges around the nation saving that wrestler an extreme amount of time.
